Head of Department: Dr. Jitendra Kumar (21.02.2018-20.02.2021)
The department of Horticulture was established in 1970 to impart teaching/research to M.Phil. students (pre-requisite for Ph.D.) with specialization in Pomology, Floriculture and Olericulture. In the last two decades, about 304 and 60 students of the department of Horticulture have obtained M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees, respectively. Besides, the faculty members also undertake extension work in horticulture in the nearby areas time to time. The faculty members provide free consultation, technical advice towards development of the campus, nearby farms and assistance to farmers.

Pomology, Floriculture and Olericulture.

The department has well established laboratory equipped with autoclaves, microscopes, chromatography chamber, distillation water plant, electronic single pan balance, hand refractometer, incubator, oven, laminar flow bench, micro Kjeldahl, mechanical shaker, vaccum evaporator, deep freeze, seed germinator, cooling centrifuge and spectrophotometer etc. The department also has computer facilities with Internet connectivity and 1.5 acres land for conducting experiments.
